Indulge in a customized kitchen equipped with everything you need to cook and experiment with new recipes. Be sure to taste the delectable local dishes during your stay. The exquisite master bedroom includes a roomy king-sized bed and a generously sized suite bathroom with a large shower and tub. Relax with candles and bath bombs while the kids explore nearby trails. The sofa and dining table provide plenty of seating for everyone. Let the kids have a blast in the bunk room while you unwind or cook - it's so inviting they'll have no trouble falling asleep after their long day. Two queen size beds at the bottom which are both extremely comfortable and 2 twins on top. 3rd room has a lovely Queen bed . Bring the extended family, they can all fit here without the outrages prices. Kids can adventure outside, look for those little crabs running all over the neighborhood. Watch out for those bunnies weaving in and out of everywhere. They are super fast and you won't be able to catch them. The zero depth pool is just at the end of street on the slight bend, if you have little ones this is just perfect. This home is close to both pools and just moments from the Beach. Parking is right in front of the cottage. We are just over the bridge . Pretty much this home got one of the best spots. But don’t tell anyone. Lots of extras given with this home to make it a wonderful experience! Our goal is for you to leave here knowing this was the best time of your life!
During the Winter Season the Bodenhamer offers $10 a day daily pass to heated indoor pool, classes and all facilities.

We are on a peninsula surrounded by water, so please expect insects around Gulf Shores and the property. You are coming to experience the area and stay in one of the beautiful cottages; we cannot control anything beyond our service and inside the home.

The cottage owner offers free beach chairs, beach umbrellas, beach toys, buckets, shovels, beach hats, floats, snorkel equipment, grill, and firepit. The backyard has been sodded for children to play with sand for castle building. Horseshoes are available. Games, puzzles, and books for all ages. In the Rookery III community you have two pools and a game room. Feel free to relax in this neighborhood as it is very safe and family friendly. You can stroll the walking path in the Bon Secour natural habitat! Go for a jog. At this unit children can play outdoors safely without the hustle and bustle of traffic. The kids can chase each other with water guns. Just have fun!

Fort Morgan, Alabama is a great year-around destination for a relaxing family vacation! It’s tucked away from the hustle and bustle of the nearby Mobile and neighboring main resort areas of Gulf Shores and Orange Beach. Yet these areas are only a short drive or ferry ride away.

With its coastal location combined with breezes off Mobile Bay, year-round average daily temperatures here are perfect for outdoor activities. The area is home to a protected wildlife refuge that features gorgeous sand dunes, coastal marshes, and beaches – not to mention the amazing fishing! And don’t forget about incredible birdlife!

For educational experiences, the area has a rich history full of adventure. From historical military forts built during the civil war to serene natural parks that are home to rare plant species found no where else in the world, there is always something new to discover

Explore the Alabama Coastal Birding Trail – This unique trail is home to many bird species which migrate to the area, making it a great place for birdwatching and photography. You’ll find the trail markers on Highway 180.

Take a dolphin cruise, rent a boat and go tubing, boating or fishing – If you want to go fishing further offshore, consider charter a boat to fish for snapper, mahi, and/or grouper.

Visit the Bon Secour National Wildlife Refuge and Interpretive Center – There are over 7000 acres and four designated hiking trails to explore here as well as an interpretive center. The Pine Beach Trail is one of my family’s favorite hikes as it ends in a secluded stretch of beach. While there stop by the interpretive center to learn about the flora & fauna native to the area, including alligators and other interesting creatures.

Go kayaking – There are countless areas to launch your kayak and explore local waterways. One of our favorite areas to put in at at Bon Secour National Wildlife Refuge. Be sure to pick up a trail map when you visit the center so you know where to go.

Enjoy a round of golf – Kiva Dunes is ranked one of the top public golf courses in Alabama per Golf Digest and Golf Advisor.

Take the Mobile Bay Ferry to Dauphin Island – This ferry runs daily from early morning to afternoon. It’s a beautiful ride across Mobile Bay and provides great views of Fort Morgan. The Dauphin Island ferry dock is located conveniently close to wonderful attractions like Fort Gaines and the Estuarium.

Dauphin Island Sea Lab and Estuarium – This is a great place for an educational experience. With over 19 miles of trails, you will learn about the coastal habitats and wildlife that call this area home. You can also visit their on-site sea turtle rehabilitation center and research library. For a deeper education experience, book a marine educator-led aquarium tour with your kids.

Karaoke and Dinner at Tacky Jacks – Tacky Jack’s, located next to Fort Morgan Marina, is a fun place for family-friendly entertainment and waterfront dining. A local favorite for breakfast, lunch, and dinner with live karaoke on Thursday and Saturday nights.

Visit the Gulf State Park – This large state park in Gulf Shores offers trails, a beach, fishing pier, and more! You can read more about my experience on the Back country Trail here. The beach here is one of the best beaches in Alabama. Be sure to stop by the lodge for a drink while you’re there – the sunset views from this hotel are absolutely gorgeous.

Visit the Coastal Art Center of Orange Beach – A beautiful art museum displaying area artists is a great stop is not far away from the beach. Check the class schedule for art classes, as well events in the glass blowing and clay studios. No guard on duty please just drive in and find my home. Two parking spots ONLY closest to my front door. You can drive to the pool , use golf cart or walk. One pool up front other towards the back of Rookery on Osprey Loop.

As you enter the Rookery 3 Community, you are greeted with a little sailboat and colorful cottages throughout the community. You will be surrounded by Bon Secour National wildlife reserve. Palm trees around the complex. A pool is to the right just as you enter and pass the security stand. This cottage will be over the bridge, turn right and it will be located on the right. A community house and second pool is very close, the pool is behind this house which is the more family friendly pool. Bring floats and chairs if all the seating is gone at the pool but it's highly unlikely unless there is a family reunion going on. Parking is available at the second pool or it's just a short walk from the cottage.

At night you just may hear the frogs sing to you or maybe if you're lucky a baby alligator.

Renting golf carts is very common here. A lot of people get around by bike, bring your own or rent from Fort Morgan Beach Rentals. They also offer chairs, tents, kayaks etc.

It is about a 10 min walk to the beach down paths and across the street. There is a public parking or you can park along Cortez Street. Bring your skate-boards or scooters--streets by the beach are nice and smooth. Gulf State park is popular for a bike riding and rentals are available.

Colorful spacious cottages. Friendly neighbors and lots of area to run play, grill to your hearts content, ride bikes, adult beverages are allowed on Fort Morgan beach, not like Gulf Shores or Orange Beach.
We are a crazy community for golf carts we love them, we take them down the trail, right to the beach also to the local restaurant and shops. We cannot drive them on the main road through! If your here for special occasions you will see a golf cart parade. Those of us that live here call each other family we love the Rookery 3 and we love people who enjoy it with us.

The house was lovely. Lots of space for everyone. Kitchen had everything you could have wanted or needed. Lots of extra beach items available for use and TONS of beach towels. Beds were comfy. Literally no major issues. There was one TINY door malfunction and when we let the host know they offered to have it fixed the next day, that wasn’t necessary so we said they didn’t need to fix it until after we checked out. They were so fast and friendly to respond immediately though. I would definitely recommend this home to anyone looking to stay off the beaten path.

It was the first time in Gulf Shores and we are definitely returning. The house is amazing, is by far one the best Airbnb’s I’ve stayed at. It literally has everything you need just as if you were at your own home. House is comfortable is really well located in Fort Morgan. Host was absolutely amazing, super responsive. We travel with our dogs (we have 2 sharpeis, 10 and 8 years old) and is really important to find a pet friendly location. Close to the house you have Fort Morgan and Morgantown beach were you can bring your pets (on leash please). You have some good options to eat close to the house. Is about 20 min from downtown Gulf Shores but if you are looking for a quiet beautiful place to spend your vacation close to the see, this is definitely it.

me and my family had a really special trip - it was my kids first time ever seeing the beach! 10/10 stay and memories were made. it was our first beach trip in a decade and they provided a bunch of stuff we didn't know we needed so that was super helpful and appreciated. also lots of board games and things for my kids to do i really liked that too. Absolutely beautiful, clean, comfortable place and we hope to come back next year! essentials like TP and garbage bags etc were scarce but its all good, all airbnbs are different in that way. thanks guys!

The cottage had everything you could possibly need. I don’t think I have ever stayed somewhere that thought of everything needed for a vacation. The cottage was very clean and roomy for our family of 9! The host was very attentive to everything! Would definitely go back and would recommend!

This stay was exactly what we wanted! The house was so clean and organized and the perfect size for our group! The pools were very nice. The drive to gulf shores wasn’t ideal, especially when we needed a quick grocery store trip. The beach access was very convenient! We would definitely stay here again!

We thoroughly enjoyed staying here! Martha was so kind and responsive. Everything we needed she messaged back so quickly. Her home was beautiful and had anything and everything you could dream of and more. The amenities, kitchen ware, blankets, and everything offered were so thoughtful. I’ve never seen an Airbnb offer SO many things that could potentially be forgotten at home. The neighborhood was so beautiful, clean, well maintained and peaceful. I would have to rate this house as a 10/10.
